User Home Pages: Those Elusive Texas Haneys!
I am reserching my Father's family. The Elusive Texas Haneys! My Great Grandparents James H. Haney and Tinnie Morrison, were both born in Texas, as were their four Children. Their youngest son being my Grandfather, David Harrison Haney who went by Harrison was born, August 27th 1892 in Cooke County, Horseshoe Bend, Texas. W.Calvin Haney was the oldest son, Maud and Elizabeth who was called Betty were their daughters. Tinnie died when the children were still quite young. The Haney Family Bible was lost in a house fire. The children all married young and knew very little about thier Mother's or Father's family. This has been a difficult line to trace. It is in my Grandfathers memorey, whom I never knew, that I dedicate this Web page. Although Texas was and is full of Haneys I have been unable to locate them on any census. They relocated to Oklahoma some time around 1900, however I have not found them there either. James H. Haney also went by Jim had one brother that I know of named, or called Land Haney. Harrison was said to have been a good Father and Husbond. He died at the age of 47 from complications of Diabetes and TB. My Father was only nine years old when his father died. The Haney's were said tohave come from Texas, and thought to have been Cowboys. Tennie is belived to have been of Apachie linage. Please feel free to look around and if you think that you may a conection or questions please feel free to email me. | Those Elusive Texas Haneys! Updated May 5, 2002 |
