| I began my research on this line in 1981 at the urging of my mother, Jean (Montgomery) Hughes, who had already produced a sizeable database. My efforts are merely a continuation of the work done by many others before me and I hope to be continued long after I am gone. During the 80's I made three trips to Salt Lake City, which my mother refers to as Mecca for genealogists. I had acquired the PAF V1 program in 1983 which I used until last spring when a fellow by the name of Mike St.Clair was kind enough to convert my file to PAF V2, V3 and Gedcom V2, V3 without which I would not be making this submission today. My primary hope is that others who have lines that mesh will mine will email me with their contributions so that I can continue to enhance this effort.
