|My research is in the Samuel Karr Hull family.
I am searching for information on the Parents of Samuel Karr Hull.
Samuel was born in Ross Co. Ohio, in 1842. His parents appear to be John and Margaret Hull. John was born in Maryland around 1823 and Margaret (maiden name unk.) was born in Ohio, around 1827.
If this is the correct family, Samuel had 3 brothers John, James and Cyrus, and one sister, Rebecca.
Samuel joined Co F, 118th Infantry, Illinois Volunteer Infantry, on Aug 4, 1862 as a musician, and was discharged on April 11, 1863 due to disability.
Sam joined Co. F, 47th Illinois Volunteer Infantry on February 28, 1865 as a musician and was discharged on January 21, 1866 at Demopolis, Alabama, services no longer needed.
Samuel was married to Hannah Cathrine (Kate) Akers on August 30, 1866 in Adams County, Illinois by William Sykes a J.P.
Sam and Kate had 6 children, 2 of whom died. George Adrian (Dot), James Audrey (Audie), Nellie Estelle, and Jennie Audrey were the surviving children.
Between 1880 and 1883, Samuel and the family moved west to Pomeroy, Garfield Co., Washington. Sam was sheriff in Garfield county in the early days.
Samuel passed away at Walla Walla City (as it was called in those days), on Nov. 20, 1928 at the age of 85. Kate passed away in 1927.
Nellie Estelle Hull married Benton S. Woods, and had a son, Loraine K. Unknown what happened to Benton, but Nellie later married Virgil Ferdinand Wilkins and had no children from that marriage.
Jennie married William Rummens, but died in 1901, shortly after being married.
George Adrian (Dot) passed away in 1960.
James Audrey (Audie) married Stella Mae Wilkins (Virgil F.'s sister). Audie and Stella had 4 children, one child died at birth, Helen A., Lawrence Adrian, and Richard Karr.
Helen married James E. Terry, and moved to Montana where they spent their life together.
Richard married Vivian (unk.) and spent most of their married life in John Day, OR. They had two children, James K, and Linda. Vivian passed away from M.S. after a long illness. Later on, Richard married Doris (unk).
Lawrence Adrian married Margaret Olivia Frederick (my parents). They had 3 children, Sharon Sue, Margaret Marlene and Lawrence Willard. The three children were born in Yakima, Wa, and spent our lives growing up in Yakima, Seattle, and Bellingham. Eventually we all ended up back in Yakima in about 1956, where the family lived until the children married and moved away. Mom and Dad eventually moved to Puyallup, WA, where they lived out the remainder of their lives.
In addition to the Hull line, we have links to Wilkins, Frederick, Akers, and Johnson.
