Henry Childs Simmons (son of Jonathan C. Simmons and Mary Troutman)²⁷⁶⁵ was born 6 February 1821 in Meade, Kentucky, and died 24 February 1895 in Coos, Oregon. He married (1) Mahala Simmons on 24 February 1839 in Henry, Iowa, daughter of Robert Simmons and Chloe Chenoweth. He married (2) Nancy Ann Pender on May 1851 in Madison, Iowa²⁷⁶⁶.
