Donna Lucille Hanlin Whiting
GLENVILLE -- Donna Lucille Hanlin Whiting, age 89, of Kanawha Drive Community, Glenville, departed this life at 9 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at her residence following an unexpected illness.
She was born November 9, 1914, in Kanawha County, the daughter of the late P.A. and Nellie Dye Hanlin.
Mrs. Whiting was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Surviving is her husband of sixty-seven years, Asa V. Whiting of Glenville. Also surviving are one daughter, Betty J Heriff of Casselberry, Florida; one son, Jack N. Whiting of Linn, W.Va.; and three brothers, Bruce Hanlin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Paul Hanlin of Willington, Ohio, and Dale Hanlin of Barberton, Ohio.
A fourth brother, Carl Hanlin, passed away on Sunday evening, April 4, 2004, at his residence from an unexpected illness in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Mrs. Whiting was also survived by 3 sisters, Phyllis Butler of Elyria, Ohio, Fern H. Coberly of Glenville, W.Va., and Lois J. Phillips of Caldwell, Idaho; three grandsons and two granddaughters, Rich Smith of Brunswick, Ohio, Scott Smith of Casselberry, Fla., John Whiting of Weston, W.Va., Lisa Kelly of Alta Loma, California, and Michi Hubbard of North Fort Myers, Florida; one great-great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister and lived an exemplary life before her family, neighbors and friends, and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville, W.Va., with the Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery at Holts Run.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville, W.Va.
