Billy is listed in the "Register of Free Negroes and Mulattoes for Sussex Co., VA; 1800-1850" His description is as follows: Billy Hunt, yellow, 5' 5 1/8", freeborn, no visible marks or scars, 28 years old. Register #679, dated 12/1/31. Three males (possibly brothers) are listed with him as being freeborn. They are Sandy, Matthew, Charles. (Information supplied by Sussex Co., Clerk of Courts - Gary Williams). There is one other confirmed son of Tom; Irvin Hunt (see "Hunting for the Hunts" attachment A, page 7).
