Notes for ANDREW JACKSON ALLEN:
He was shot and killed while riding a horse to get medicine for one of his children. His horse returned home without him after he was shot. The man that shot him was named Jackson, no one was ever tried for the killing of Andrew J. "Pete" Allen. His children were raised by his parents after his death.
No one knows what happen to his wife, she left one day and took two of their children. Andrews father James looked for and found the two children in an orphans home, he then took them into his own home and raised them.

The area where she was born became part of Lee County following the Civil War.
Joanna left the Lee, Bastrop County area after her husband James died because she did not like the area. She moved to Round Rock, Texas first with her children and then moved to Crawford then McGregor, Texas. She then moved to Waco, Texas and was living there when she passed away.
She had been going to McGregor, Texas with Jim Allen and his family to visit with Verna Mae Allen Hunter and family when they had a car accident. As a result of the injuries she received from the accident she passed away.
