Notes for SETH HOPKINS: Seth Hopkins and Elizabeth Cahoon were both of Eastham when intentions of marriage was recorded there 3 October 1747. The will of James Cahoon of Eastham, gentleman, dated 4 December 1758, mentioned among others, his wife Mary and daughter Elisabeth Hopkins, wife of Seth. Conveying the homestead estate of Seth Hopkins, late of Wellfleet, on 20 Feb. 1793 to Giles Hopkins, mariner of Wellfleet, son of said deceased, were Elizabeth Hopkins, spinster, widow of Seth; Benjamin Hopkins, Solomon Hopkins and Theophilus Hopkins, mariners, all of Wellfleet; Hannah Holbrook, Sarah Rich, Elizabeth Murry, Rachel Baker and Deliverance Atwood, spinsters, all children of Seth. Seth Hopkins was listed at Wellfleet in 1790 (2-0-5). next to David Holbrooks. No probate records for Seth or Elizabeth Hopkins have been discovered in Barnstable County; neither is he found in the 1771 tax lists.
