This site is seeking descendents of Yitzhak (Isaac) Blistein and his wife Laya. Common family names in addition to Blistein are Paskoff and Maglin. The children of Yitzhak and Laya arrived in this country in the early 1900's and resided in Providence, and Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Also, this research seeks descendents of Zeleg Hurwitz. Common family names are Hurwitz, Horewitz, and Horowitz. The first generation of the Hurwitz family to live in the United States arrived in the early 1900's from the area near Vilna, Lithuania. Family members are known to have resided in Brooklyn, New York and Butler, PA. Zeleg's son, Joseph, was married to Bessie Miller of Brooklyn. Her family also came from Vilna. Bessie had several siblings residing in Brooklyn and in Philadelphia, PA.
