The Avelar Family Home Page

I am currently researching the Avelar's. My family started in Portugual, stopped over in Hawaii and made there home in Oakland, CA.
I underdstand that Avelar was once spelled as Avellar, I am told our name was changed when my family came to the US.

My grandmother' name was Rosalie Marie Costello and my grandfather's name was Charles Carl Avelar, he went by Carl.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, and I would love to share the information I have.
