I have been researching my father's family for several years. My father, Charles H. Middendorf was born in Dayton, Ohio. My father's brother (Edward) and his sisters (Catherine, Marie, Sarah, Frances and Agnes) were born in Pennsylvania. Their father was Edward David Middendorf, born in Cinncinati, Ohio (Hamilton, Butler)on August 23, 1874. Their mother was Mary Dixon Middendorf Chowning, born in Ireland (possibly in County Mayo) on January 1, 1875.

Edward David Middendorf's father was Francis H. Middendorf, he was born in New York in 1839. His mother was Frances Siegel, born in Cinncinati, Ohio (Hamilton, Butler) in 1840.

Mary Dixon Middendorf Chowning's father was Patrick Dixon and her mother was Sarah Tucker. Both parents were born in Ireland.
