Giles Cheney (son of Duston Cheney and Sarah Mount) was born September 4, 1771 in Plaistow,Rockingham,NH, and died December 13, 1847 in Dickinson,NY. He married (1) Hannah Peasley, daughter of Reuben Peasley and Judith Noyes. He married (2) Hannah Kimball.

Notes for Giles Cheney:
Giles Cheney moved his entire second family to Dickinson,NY after selling his farm in Washington,VT to one of his sone in 1843. He had followed his son William who went to Dickinson before him by 1840.
Giles first wife was Hannah Peasley,1775-1815,buried in Washington,VT.She was the daughter of Reuben and Judith (Noyes). Giles had 6 children with Hannah who left many descendants in VT.
Giles Cheney was last shown in the 1840 census of Washington,VT but does not appear in the census in 1850 nor was there any further record of him in Vermont.
The vital records of Dickinson NY 1847-1848 has the following record:Mr.Cheney died Dec.13,1847,farmer,of typhus fever,he was married.
