In 1998, we brothers, Albert D. "Jack" Hurst and Lawrence M. "Larry" Hurst completed the first edition of "The Hurst Family History", a story of "One Hundred Years of Our Hurst Families".
The book celebrates the marriage of our parents, Arthur M. Hurst and Florence O. Waterman Hurst. It covers their and their nine childrens histories from the years from 1898 to 1998 including Ancestors, Parents, Families and Descendants.
We found that our earliest ancestors, on several sides of our families, emigrated mostly from the middle farmland sections of England, with the earliest arrivals reaching the New England Colinies in the 1620s. Included within those early arrivals was the Reverand Roger Williams, brothers Robert & Richard Waterman, Cornet Robert Stetson and Abraham Doolittle.
Most of the later part of this families history in centered in the Western New York and Western Pennsylvanis areas but family tenicals stretch from that area to Florida,Lousiana,California. Of particular interest is the opening up of the homestead areas in North & South Dakota, Iowa and Missouri.
Our family history book is nearly 300 pages long and contains over 100 photograps. Since publication of this history many additional early families have been discovered going back in history, in some cases, to the 1200s and several in the 1500s.
