I have been researching the Hurd family on and off for at least 20 years with some sucess, but there are still large gaps that need to be filled. Namely in Manchester Lancashire- For Hurds. For Hawthorns,Sneyds and Bagots in Burslem, Stoke-up-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme,and Sedgely. Doveys In Bristol Somersetshire and Dudley Staffordshire. And last but not least The Gills of Kent.
The Hurds of manchester vanished after 1901. The rest are all a mystery to me.I Have some information that lies between 1861 back to 1785 but big gaps. Oh! there's one other person of the Hurd Clan,Thats Thomas born 1864 Vanished from sight in 1881 re-appeared in 1911 visiting his brother; my Grand Father In Featherstone Yorkshire. He stated that he was Married; but to whom? I don'nt know.
