| Hi I am Sharon and I have been searching family for about 4-5 years now & am slowly putting the puzzel together. My Father's side of the family is the Hurst-Dahlquist section with the Dahlquists going back to Sweden. The French, Pickett and Carpenters are my Mom's ancestors. I have the Hursts back to Uriah & Hannah Hurst, Uriah born abt 1792 in Virginia or the Csrolinas, died 4/17/1853 in Gasconade Co. Missouri, Nothing known about Hannah. They were married before 1819 when their first son Daniel was born. I know about my Grandmother Sigrid Dahlquist from her & about her family here in the states. Others have documented the Swedish parts of the family & I have still to confirm this data. The French's I have back to Johnathon French b.5/1788, d.4/1863. Still looking at this family. They lived in Indiana. The Pickett connection is through Mary who married a French. This goes through Heathcoate I to James and Mary(Heathcoate) Pickett in Virginia came from England. To Pennslvania, then Indiana The Carpenters are through my maternal grandmother, also from Indiana. Her father was Squire Carpenter & his father was Samuel Bigalow Carpenter. I am still working on all of these people plus their spouses, brothers, sisters & children. That's what I am doing in a very brief way. Call me the Great Family Detective. |
