John Brockenbrough: Antietum battle field marker
John Brockenbrough: Known as "Beau" att. Washington College. Graduated at the University of Virginia. Lawyer, lived in Lexington, Virginia. Lt., Rockbridge Artillery, April 1861. Wounded at 1st Manassas. Capt., Baltimore Light Artillery (Maryland), March 02, 1862. Major - March 02, 1863. Chief of Artillery of Taliaferros' Division (as a captain), fall 1862. Second in command of Hilary P. Jones' Battalion. Suffered disabling wound, that crippled him for life, at Fredericksburg. Retired March 23, 1864. Married Lucy Alice Murrell, 1864. Married 2nd time and went West to Oregon, California and Wyoming, where he was a federal land inspector. Died November 15, 1901 buried in Loundon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
