Kate, the banker's daughter was musically inclined, a good singing voice, and an excellent pianist, and an avid reader! She was a regular borrower of books from the Vancouver Public Library; and family members wondered if she had read them all! During their retirement years, Kate and Alfred lived in the Kitsilano area and were well known for their daily swims during the summer months.
