1. JAMES1 NEEPER died Abt. December 10, 1778 in Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married JANET (JEAN?) DICKSON June 12, 1749 in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, Antrim County, Ireland.

James Neeper | In the Name of God Amen. The 22nd day of October 1777, I James
dec'ed | Neeper of Little Britain Township Lancaster County in the State of
| Pennsylvania calling to Mind the mortality of Body knowing that it is
appointed for all Men once to die. Do make and order this my Last Will and Testament, That is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul to God who gave it; and for my body I commend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner; nothing being doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate here with it has pleased God to bless me with. I give and devise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and Form. First. I give to Jean Neeper my Well beloved Wife a Bed and furniture and one horse and Side Saddle; and one Milch Cow with one-fifth part of my whole estate together with a comfortable maintenance during her lifetime. Secondly. I give unto John Neeper and Samuel Neeper my two sons all my lands with the Improvements and all Appurtenances thereto belonging or anywise appertaining to the said John and Samuel Neeper to them their Heirs nad Assigns forever. Further I give unto my son John Neeper the black Mare called Jerry; and to my son Samuel Neeper I give the grey horse. Thirdly. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Neeper two hundred pounds current money of the State of Pennsylvania together with a Side Saddle and one Horse worth thirty pounds and a Bed and furniture. Fourthly. I give my daughter Joan Neeper two hundred pounds current money of the State of Pennsylvania together with a Side Saddle and one horse worth thirty pounds and a Bed and furniture. Fifthly if any of my Daughters depart this Life before Marriage I order this part of the Estate to be equally divided amongst the Rest. Lastly I make and ordain my two Sons John Neeper and Samuel Neeper the whole and Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. Ratifying and confirming the same in the presence of these Witnesses Given under my Hand Seal the Day and Year first above written. his mark

On the Second day of December Anna Domini 1778 Before me the Subscriber Personally appeared Francis Armstrong and John Long the two Subscribing Witnesses to the within Will who on their Corporal Oaths did Severally declare and say that they were present and saw and heard James Neeper the Testator Sign Seal Publish Pronounce and Declare the forgoing Writing as and for his Last Will and Testament, and that at the doing thereof he was of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding to the best of their Knowledge Observation and Belief.

Be it Remembered. That on the tenth day of December 1778, The Last Will and Testament of James Neeper late of Little Britain Township Lancaster County Yeoman dec'ed was proven in due form of Law and Letters Testamentary were granted to John Neeper and Samuel Neeper the Executors therein named; they being first duly qualified well and truly to Administer the Estate of the deceased. And to Exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof in the Register's Office at Lancaster on or before the tenth day of January next. And render a just and true Account of their Administration on the said Estate when thereto Lawfully required. Given under the Seal of the said Office.
