| The Huyck Family (my husband Wayne Lester's) is from Chicago, IL and are of Dutch/German descent. It is believed that the name was at one time Van Huycken. Grandpa Lester Albert Huyck married Margaret Elizabeth Schumaker (who was at one time married to Al Zander).I am uncertain as to where the Skipper family (mine) came from. My grandfather Leslie Reed had two brothers (will have to fill in names later). He married my grandmother Pearl Elizabeth Gill from Ft. Green, FL. The Gills have been in FL for generations as far as I know. My mother was a Fann. I do know that her grandparents are from Georgia and theirs are from Ireland and England.I have barely just begun to work with Family Tree Maker so I I'm sure I will have more info later. |
