Robert C. Dykes
"Robert Cossin Dykes, Poplarville, died Saturday after an illness of three years.The son of the late James Martin and Julia Horton Dykes, he was born August 7, 1882 in Pulaski County. He was married to Frances Barber in 1898 in Pulaski County.Mr. Dykes was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, the following children, Sophia Bryan and Retta Mains, both of Akron, Ohio; Ola App, J. W., Irvin T. and Raymond, all of Cincinnati; Geraldine Williams, Cincinnati; Paul Dykes, Loveland, Ohio; Lillie Baker, Ferguson, Carl and James, both of Poplarville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Bray, Copley, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. S. L. Wood and Rev. Lester Phelps officiating. Burial was in the Mt Zion Cemetery.Farris-Morris-Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
