in 1850 Willis and 4 children lived in Grand River Township Henry Co. Mo.
Willils Yandel accompanied his son Samuel Dillon Yandell when he enlisted with the Confederacy at the beginning of the Civil War. Willis was hit by a large shell and killed during the early battles. His young son Samuel wrapped his father in his saddle blanket and buried him on the battle field. Source facts related by Jesse L. Yandle of Tecumseh Ok. as he heard them from his grandfather Samuel Dillon Yandle.
