August 26,2007 Boy, its been a while. I am sorry that I have not been better at updates. Just pre-occupied with the world!! Our geno trip was great! Not much new on Hiram, but we did investigate the Azel Hyde connection in New York. We have his will, and found his tombstone. No mention of Hiram, however. If Hiram was his, he [Azel] never knew it. If he did, he would have provided for him. Just an impression I get from the tone of the will. We did find a bunch of new info on Celena's Roth line, which was a great pleasure. Old Casper is difficult to find. Also, made a great discovery in Lee County, N.C. My 4th ggrandfather McGilvary's home location. The ruins were bulldozed of into the woods in 2001, to make room for a large new home, but we did find remnants of the old stonework, and yes, a piece came home with me!! I know, I know. I get a little more nuts every year! Oh, Well! I am posting some of the great info that Jay Hyde out in Calif. sent me. It is remarkable. There is a ton of it, so posting it is going to be a challenge as to what is the best stuff. It is all great. Thanks a million, Jay, you are the best!! Our trip was 3900 miles, very busy! We did get to take in some "tourist stuff", so all of you that worry about Celena being "dragged to cemetaries", can be assured that we did other things! She loves the geno as much as I do. Well, got to get downloading stuff to this site, then start getting out notices about the reunion in October. If any one local[ Marshfield} can help with getting the food ready at Prospect, let me know. Jan and Jane have done great in the past, but it is time that some younger blood step up and help. Catch ya"ll later, Dan
Sept.4, 2007 Hi Gang, The James D. Hyde family reunion was held Labor Day weekend, and it was great! 83 were in attendance, and it was fun. We helped celebrate Gaston Hyde's 90th birthday- a surprise it was! A greater one was that his 2 children came in from N.Y. and N.M. to be with him. I also obtained a few new photos of their family, including Cleveland Alexander Hyde, James' son. A great find!! I have resized some of the documents, so you should be better able to view them. I am still learning!! Don't forget, October 6th,Prospect Baptist Church. 10:00 a.m. till ?? Dan
