My name is JD Hysler, and I am researching all of the ancestors and relatives of my three wonderfull Children, Robert, Bethany and Heather Hysler. This is definitly a work in progress and am alway interested in more experienced researchers.
The main lines that I am searchin are : HYSLER, STRONG, COMBS, ADDINGTON, SKELTON, GRAY, THORNTON, GEIGER, MILLIGAN, BOLTON, MEADE, BELLAMY, COLEMAN, CHAMBERS, BISHOP

HYSLER: The Hysler's of North Florida were a notorious group that came from Jones Co. Georgia. The family homestead was located where present day NAS Cecil field stands in Duval Co. Florida. The Hysler Family Cemtary is still on the outskirts of the Navy Property.

COMBS: The Combs family of "Little Moccasin Gap" on the North Fork of the Holston River in Washington County Virginia ties their lineage back to "John the Revolutionary" Combs. As children we were told stories of Danger Nick and Birdeye by the old folks. To date, we have not been able to trace our roots as far back as "Old John" but we are of the same line. We do however have the following information: Thomas combs is listed in the 1830 Census of Washington County Virginia as being 30 years old and the head of the household. He was born in North Carolina in 1800. Thomas was married to Priscilla Moss who was born in 1810. They had five children.

STRONG: I am a descendat of John Strong from Scott County who was born around 1675. He was the son of William Combs from England and had quite a family in the Scott County Virginia Area. I recently visted the old home place of Thomas Richard Strong and his Wife Rebecca Addington. The home still belongs to a distant relative of the Strongs. The actual cemetery was set aside from the Strong Family Farm in a deed dated July 5, 1919 Deed Book #65 Page 310 Scott County Courthouse.

GEIGER: We have traced our Geiger line back to Abraham Geiger, living in Bemeck, Switzerland dearling the early 1650's. From that point our line is as follows: Hans Geiger born 1654 in Bemeck, Switzerland, Abraham Geiger, born 1687 in Hasslock , Switzerland. Hans Ulrich Geiger, born 1730 in Switzerland; Abraham Geiger, born 1765 in South Carolina; Asa Geiger, born in Bryan County, Georgia in 1799; James William Geiger, born 1823 in south Georgia or north Florida; James Daugharty Geiger, born 1852 (probably in south Georgia). James Daugharty Geiger married Mary Jane Chambers and they reared 9 children, including the 4 sisters mentioned earlier.

Coleman: We have traced our Coleman line back to Spencer Coleman, a revolutionary soldier born in King and Queen County, Virginia. Spencer Coleman entered military service under Col. William Campbell. He married Lucy White and moved to east Tennessee in about 1781. They reared 7 children, including William Coleman, born 1790. William married Elizabeth Vann and they raised 12 children, including Jesse Coleman born 1811 in east Tennessee. Jesse married Malinda (Matlock?) and they reared 7 children in the Cherokee County, North Carolina and Polk County, Tennessee area, including William Riley Coleman, born 1847. Jesse and his son, William Riley Coleman left that area in 1865, along with the family of Rev. David Ward and a Reid family to escape the invading federal army. They all settled in Hamilton County, Florida. William Riley Coleman married Mary Jane Ward and they reared nine children, including the four brothers mentioned earlier.
If you fit within these families and want to share information please let me know. I am always interested in sharing our family heritage.
