I'm looking for any information on the Decendants or Ansctors of William D. Mesecher, he was born in West Virginia in 1834, we don't have the month and day, we believe it was in Ohio County.I would really like to find out about who his parents, brother's and sister's were.
William Married Margaret Martin June 13th 1861 in Cato Kansas (Crawford Co.). They had 5 children:
Francis Marion Mesecher, February 03,1863 in La Harpe Ill. he married Alice J. Stith, and they had 10 children.
The second child was William Techumsech Sherman Mesecher born March 10, 1866 and died as a youth.
3rd child Charles Warren Mesecher born Aug. 20th 1868 in Girard Kansas, Charles Married Julia Carroll Hale in Oct. 22, 1895 and they had one child.
The 4th child was Hartwell Mesecher, born May 28th 1871, that's all the information we have on him.
The 5th child was Vasa Vienna Mesecher born March 12, 1877, and she died as a youth.
Here is some other info on William, he moved with his family from West Virginia to Ohio at the age of 9, Moved to Illinois in 1856 at the age of 22, Moved to Kansas in 1860, in Franklin County, and also lived in Crawford, listed as a Farmer with medium education.
William moved back to Illinois in 1861 at the age of 27. William enlisted in Company C 78th Illinois infantry and he serverd until the end of the Civil War. During the War he moved his family to LaHarpe Ill. to keep them safe.
He returned to Kansas (Lyon Co.) in 1866, then back to Crawford Co. in Kansas in 1868. Then they moved on and ended up in Goldendale, Washington (Klickitat Co.), That's where they lived out the rest of there lives, and raised there children, William died in Jan. 08, 1904, est. age 70. Margaret died Feb. 09, 1906 at the age of est. 72 in Goldendale Washington.
