John Mapp was Christened 16 August 1618 in the church at Lydbury North, Shropshire, England. He arrived on the eastern shore of Virginia in 1654. I am his 9th great-grandson: one of the 11th generation born in North America. My maternal grandmother was Claire Romaine Mapp Alford.
