I've always been interested in learning the origins and history of my unusual family name. I've learned quite a lot in the past few weeks and look forward to more surprizes. I am interested in all the Iggos of Sheffield, England and how our ancestry traces back to Scotland (Aberdeen area) via Newcastle. I'm currently looking for the link between my Great Grandfather - Wilfred, born in Sheffield c.1877 and the Newcastle Iggos. I would then like to discover the link to Scotland and ultimately, my place in the Scottish line. Finally, I understand that the Iggos arrived in the British Isles as farmers with the Vikings. If you have any information to share, I'd be very grateful and will of course, share the information that I have. |
