Our Iglar ancestors came from Frydman, a village on the border of Poland and Slovakia. Most of the information we have about our ancestors comes from the records made in each generation by the parish priest at the village church of St. Stanislaw.
Jan Iglar and Maria Gregus were both probably born before 1753 in Frydman. Vojtech Iglar, the son of Jan Iglar and Maria Gregus, was born in 1773, or possibly 1772. He married Maria Findura on November 25, 1802. Maria Findura, the daughter of Blazej Findura and Maria Sviez, was born in 1776. In 1813, they had a son, Jan Iglar. Their other children may include: Michal Iglar (died June 24, 1879); Andrzej Iglar (died December 8, 1884); and Anna Iglar (died October 4, 1886). Vojtech Iglar died on March 4, 1826 in Frydman at the age of fifty-three.

Jan Iglar, the son of Vojtech Iglar and Maria Findura, was born on November 21, 1813. He married Elzbieta Maria Brinczka on January 24, 1837. They had a son, Andrzej Iglar in 1837 who was probably their eldest child. They also had a son, Stanislaw Iglar, who was born on April 12, 1846. Jan Iglar died on April 4, 1887 at the age of seventy five. He lived at house #26 at the time.

Andrzej Iglar, son of Jan Iglar and Elzbieta Brinczka, was born on November 5, 1837. He married Elzbieta Kava on October 14, 1868. Elzbieta was born in 1847 or 1848. The Church records indicate that an Andrzej Iglar died on November 16, 1885, but it is uncertain whether this record is of our ancestor.

Wojciech Iglar, the son of Andrzej Iglar and Elzbieta Kava, was born on May 3, 1870. He married Maria Pavlik on February 8, 1899. Mary Pavlik, the daughter of Valenty Pavlik and Elzbieta Subiszak, was born in 1877. Wojciech may have served in the Austro-Hungarian military during World War I. They had five children: Maria Iglar Novorolsky, born on December 18, 1900; Elzbieta Iglar Organiscak, born on August 19, 1903; Valenty Iglar, born on February 2, 1913; Ana Iglar Hlawacz, born on April 16, 1921; and Maciej Iglar, born on February 24, 1906. Wojciech Iglar and Maria Pavlik lived at house # 16 in Frydman. Wojciech Iglar died on February 2, 1948. Maria died in 1942. Their lives witnessed the break-up of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the return of Frydman to Poland, and the outbreak of World War II.

Maciej Iglar, the son of Wojciech and Maria Iglar, married Anna Frankowska and had a son, Valentine Iglar. Valentine and Elizabeth Iglar had two children: Diane Iglar and Richard Iglar.

Valenty, the son of Wojciech and Maria Iglar, was born on February 2, 1913 in Frydman. He married Margaret Brinczka on June 23, 1940 in Frydman. Valenty and Margaret had three children: Frank, born on August 30, 1942; John, born on May 23, 1945; and Joseph, born on March 2, 1953. Valenty died on December 24, 1993 in Clifton, New Jersey. Margaret died on November 17, 1983.

Frank Iglar, the son of Valenty and Margaret Iglar, was born on August 30, 1942 in Frydman. Helene Kobylarz, daughter of Michael Kobylarz and Mary Kozik, was born on March 19, 1947 in Korabina, Poland. Frank and Helene Iglar have two children, Richard Frank Iglar, born September 7, 1967 and Lenard Mark Iglar, born August 18, 1973. Richard Frank Iglar married Penny Alberta Mount on September 9, 1995.
John Iglar, the son of Valenty and Margaret Iglar, married Maria Pfeiffer and they have two children: John Michael Iglar and Jennifer Lynn Iglar.
Joseph Iglar, the son of Valenty and Margaret Iglar, married Marcie Lewis and they have two children: Crystal Iglar and Mark Iglar.
