The HARRY S. ATKINSON and MARY CUMMINGS Home Page

I am researching the ATKINSON & CUMMINGS family from the Fillmore, Olmsted County, Minnesota area. My Great-Grandparents, Harry S. ATKINSON and Mary CUMMINGS were married in Chattfield, MN, on 18 December 1882 and lived in the Wykoff area between 1882 till 1900. They had three sons that were also born in the Wykoff, Fountain, Preston Township areas. My Grandfather was Howard Clinton Atkinson, the son of Harry & Mary ATKINSON. He married Beulah Meltzer in about 1917 and lived in Bowman-Rhame area of North Dakota. They also lived in Clark, South Dakota and finally Tigard, Oregon.
We have been told that Michael CUMMINGS came from County Cork Ireland. His wife Catherine LOFTUS also came from Ireland.
I have a 1880 Census for Forestville, MN in which Mike & Catherine CUMMINGS family lived before their daughter
Mary was married. Mike and Catherine had at least 10 children living at this time. Michael and Catherine later settled in the Minneapolis area.

My Cousin Alison Benski is working on the MELTZER; LANDERS families. Thomas LANDERS, born March, 1818 in County Queens, Ireland. In 1841 he came to the US. Thomas married Elizabeth D. Stahl in 1856. They lived in Walnut, Illinois & Clark, South Dakota; Ephriam MELTZER born abt 1824 in Pennsylvania and married Leah Troxell of Pennsylvania. The had a son George D. Meltzer born in Pennsylvania & lived in Clark, South Dakota. Alison can be reached at: ABenski@aol.com.

I am also researching the surname IGO. Daniel F. IGO born 1849 in Bristol, OH. He married Mary Elizabeth RHEA in OH. They had two sons, Daniel Rhea IGO and Benjamin F. IGO and later settle in Redlands, CA in 1900. Mary Elizabeth RHEA's parents were Isaac RHEA and Elizabeth CARUTHERS. Isaac RHEA's father was Joseph RHEA of West Virginia. My husbands Grandfather was Benjamin IGO who later settled in Oregon City, Oregon.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share information that I have.
