| I am working on the Samuel Bush Vannurden family. After a trip to Ohio, I found documentation that Samuel married Catherine Engle in Stark County, Ohio on April 20, 1845. Samuel and Catherine signed a deed in October of 1845. On January 26, 1846 thier son John was born. It appears that Catherine died shortly after the birth of John because Catherine did not sign the deed when Samuel sold his land in April 1846. I believe that after the death of Catherine, Samuel took his newborn son, along with his father John and departed to Van Buren, Grant County, Indiana. His father John died shortly after arriving in Van Buren, Indiana. Samuel then married Jane Brown May on December 24, 1846. Samuel and Jane had the following children: Levi, Sarah Ann, Mary Catherine, Henry, James B., Elen Jane, Andrew, Samuel B. and Amos. In 1865 he moved his entire family to Winsted, McLeod County, Minnesota. Samuel died June 26, 1893 in Winsted, Minnesota. Jane then went to live with her son Amos, and died June 12, 1913 in Watkins, Meeker County, Minnesota. Throughout the years my records have always shown that Samuel's oldest son John was the child of Jane Brown May. Now that I have proof to the contrary it is important that everyone change their records to show the correct information. I have finished my book "Van Nurden/Vannurden Van Orden & Van Norden Family 1650-2005". This is a 500 page hard covered book. It was my plan to update this site when I got the book completed but unfortunately I can no longer update this site because there is a limit of 2000 people and we have more than that after I merged the people before Samuel Bush Vannurden. I am in the process of finding a new program that I can use that will include all the people back to 1650 that I have included in the book.
