Fanny was an outspoken "little lady." She once told her granddaughter that she remembered her mother taking her to London, where she saw Queen Victoria's carriage pass by.

She left London when her mother took the children and moved to Australia, leaving her husband, Joseph behind. Later, the family (excluding Fanny's sister, Ivy, who married and remaind in Australia) moved to Ohio. Later, Fanny's father joined the family, and in his later years lived with Fanny, Rocco, and John Lawrence until his death.

Her granddaughter rembers that she loved to dance at family get-togethers such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. She never left the house without her hat. In later years she lived in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, and walked everyday up and down Wilshire Boulevard. She never learned to drive an automobile, but took the bus or walked everywhere.

She would visit her son, John and his family in West Los Angeles. John and his granddaughter, Sandra would pick her up at the bus stop in Inglewood. While she waited, she would always buy her granddaughter a Hersey bar at the Rexall drug store. She loved to make afternoon tea and cook beef stew. Much to everyone's humor, she always said that her son, John, "Never gave her a moments anxiety." She was healthy to the last and remained devoted to her family and lead a happy, active life.
