1. ANDREAS JORANSSON² ANDERSON (JORAN JORANSSON¹) was born 1606 in Svierige, and died 1676 in New Sweden. He married SOPHIA PAULSSON 1655 in New Sweden. She was born 1635 in Sverige, and died 1717 in New Sweden.

Born 1606 in Gothenburg, Sweden, he was Captain of the transport vessel "Fogel Grip (Bird Griffin). Along with a naval friget "Kalman Jyckel" (Key of Calmir) under the command of Jan Hindricksen van der Water. These ships were given the task by the Swedish government to take the first expedition of settlers to America and colonize New Sweden. The vessels were loaded with cloth, axes, hatchets, tobacco pipes, looking glasses, rings, and other ornaments, In November they set sail to take a course between England and Scotland, crossing the ocean on the 44th degree. It took until April, 1637, the following spring before they reached their destination , up the "East River" which is now near Wilmington, Del. He Married Sophia Paulsson . c.1657. Sophia was born 1635 Sverige (Sweden) died 1717 at Ft. Christiana of Delaware Colony. They had seven children. after Andreas death in 1676, Sophia married Seneka Broer 1680. They are all buried in the Old Swedes Church, Wilmington De.
