Irvins of Clearfield County, PaMy research

My research is primarily finding which Irvin (Irwin) Family from which I am descended. The other families that I have been researching are the: Taylors, Houts, Reeds, and the Dillens. I have been able to gather information back five generations in my Irvin ancestry but have hit a brickwall with the parents of John Woods Irvin. (my GGGF). Also a brickwall with the Taylors. I can't make a connection 6th GGF William Taylor or find any info on his with Sarah Reed. One Taylor researcher feels that William is the son of William Taylor born 1760 in Chester, Pa and a Am Rev War veteran. But I'm having difficulty makeing that connection. I have info on the Houts and the Dillens. Detailed on the Houts and scanty on the Dillen.
