I am a descendant of ANDREW ELTON WILLIAMS, the son of JOHN S. WILLIAMS and Unknown WELLS. John was the son of FREDERICK WILLIAMS and ARRACICCAH GOFF. Frederick was the son of DAVID WILLIAMS and SARAH MATHIS. David was the son of GARRETT WILLAIMS of WALES. Sarah was the daughter of EZEKIAL MATHIS. These families migrated from Isle of Wight Virginia and Duplin County North Carolina into Bullock County Georgia, and finally into Jackson County, Florida. Andrew Elton Williams married Melissa Serena Underwood, the daughter of AARON UNDERWOOD and SARAH WILLIAMS. The daughter of Andrew Elton Williams and Melissa S. Underwood, SARAH ANN WILLIAMS, married HARRISON HINSON, son of HARRISON HINSON Sr. and Martha unknown. Harrison Sr, was the probable son of JAMES HINSON of Whitesville, North Carolina. The son of Harrison Hinson, James Harvey Hinson, married ANNIE ELIZABETH PARISH, the daughter of WILLIAM JOSEPH PARISH and WINNIE ELIZABETH BRYANT. Winnie was the daughter of SIMPSON BRYAN and Mary Emmeline Kaigler. Simpson was the son of LITTLETON BRYAN and ELIZABETH MCGRUDER. Littleton was the son of NATHAN BRYAN and REBECCA LITTLE. William Joseph Parish was the son of WYATT WESLEY PARISH and EVELINE B. SKAGGS .Wyatt Wesley was born in 1828 in Decatur County, Georgia, the son of WYATT WESLEY PARISH and SARAH WESTER. Evaline was the daughter of WILLIAM SKAGGS and MARTHA PERDUE of Bibb County, Georgia. The daughter of James Harvey Hinson, Sarah E. Hinson, married HAROLD WILSON RALEY, son of BENJAMEN FRANKLIN RALEY and MENA BURKE. Benjamen was the son of JAMESY DAVID RALEY, born in Henry County, Alabama and SAMANTHA WOOD, daughter of MARY ANN HARDY and MILES WOOD. Jamesy David Raley was the son of BENJAMEN M. RALEY, born in Georgia in 1818, and MARTHA ? Mary Ann Hardy was the daughter of ADAM HARDY, born in South Carolina about 1790, and REBECCA BAILEY. Adam was the son of THOMAS HARDY,who was in Barnwell County, SC before 1800. Rebecca was the daughter of ISAAC BAILEY, also from Barnwell County. Miles Wood is a mystery, he was born in South Carolina about 1835 and was in Coffee County ALabama by 1850, a fifteen-year-old living in the home of his future brother-in-law, Andrew Hardy. He is belived to be either the son or the younger brother of FREEMAN WOOD and NICY RIALS, daughter of SAMUEL RIALS and MARTHA DIXON. Miles was captured with the 1st ALABAMA ARTILERY and died a prisoner at Elmira, NY. Mena Burke was the daughter of JOHN WESLEY BURKE, born in Alabama in 1866. He was the son of DANIEL J. BURKE and REBECCA HOPKINS. Daniel is believed to be the son of DANIEL BURKE and MARY TRULOCK. John Wesley's wife was MATILDA ELIZABETH PARISH, daughter of Wyatt Wesley and Evaline Skaggs Parish, mentioned above. The daughter of Sarah E. Hinson and Harold Wilson Raley, SERETA E. RALEY married JAMES BRYANT SASSER. These were my parents. James was the son of RANDALL ADDISON SASSER and RUTH AVADA MCCLAIN. Randall was the son of BYTHAN BRYANT SASSER and MATILDA SHIPES. Bythan was the son of LEWIS M. SASSER AND MARY CAROLINE BESS. Lewis was born in Georgia about 1835-1840. He had homesteads in Henry and later Geneva County, Alabama. He fought for the CSA with the 15th Alabama Infantry out of Dale County, Alabama. An older relative told us he was the son of a JOSIAH SASSER. Matilda Shipes was the daughter of JOHN L. SHIPES, Jr and MARTHA ELMORE. John was the son of JOHN L. SHIPES, Sr and MARY MARTHA BREWER. Ruth McClain was the daughter of James MAMES MADISON MCCLAIN and ALSIA (ELSIE) ARNOLD.
