I am researching the JOHNSON & WILLIAMS families. James Franklin WILLIAMS, b. 1/7/1827, Barren Co., Kentucky to Thomas WILLIAMS and Martha THOMPSON. m. Sara (Saria) DUFFEY (or GUFFEY) in Tennessee. Sara died of cholera crossing the plains. James F. WILLIAMS died 6/24/1918 in Imbler, OR. Daughter Dinah died of cholera crossing the plains and daughter Elizabeth married William Cavanaugh JOHNSON 12/11/1862 in Hillsboro, OR and died 4/25/1898 in Toledo, OR. Wm.C.JOHNSON b. 4/4/1833 to Jacob JOHNSON and Prudence STOREY in Cooper Co., Missouri. and d. 6/15/1921 in Mist, OR. JOHNSON is my g-grandfather and WILLIAMS my gg-grandfather and I have been unable to find any information on either as to when they came west, nor what WILLIAMS did after he arrived, except fight in the Indian Wars with the Washington Territorial Volunteers. Be happy to exchange any and all information.
