Would like to find anyone who has any of the following ancestor names: Jaasma, Koopman(s), VanderBrug, Rozendal, Rienstra, Vander May, Van Rosenbergh, Zelle, Haringa.
Many of our ancestors are from Friesland, Netherlands. Many emigrated from the Netherlands to the US between 1880 and 1910. I have substantial information on many of the ancestors from 1811, when Napolean required last names in the Netherlands. I have information on Rozendal, with variations in spelling, going back to Govert in 1505. The Rozendal name first appears with Dirk Jarigs, born 3/20/1796. The Van Rosenbergh name goes back to Pieter born 1784. We have the Rienstra family going back to Ate Siedzes, born about 1803, in Nijland, Neth. The van der Brug name goes back to Henderik Klause born 3/6/1834. The Haringa name goes back to Ynte H Haringa, born 4/3/1833, and wife Hendrika Vierstra, both born in Friesland. The Vander May name goes back to Herman, born 8/21/1825 in St Anna Parochie. We have very little information on the Jaasma name. The earliest is Wijbe born in 1849 in Sneek. Wijbe's wife was Margaretha Zelle. Her grandfather, Adam, was born 11/22/1785 in Leeuwarden. We are aware of a Jaarsma family name, but don't know if there is a connectiion. The Koopmans ancestors date back to Willem Haaytzes who married Antje Heeres 5/11/1772.
