Richard Trist was divorced in the 1880's census and living on his own.
He was a retired farmer aged 74.
Right going by Sally Daniel their never was a divorce. Apparently on this day he felt "divorced" so he stated that he was!!!!
Going by stories He and his wife Rebecca were not getting along and had become rather hard to live with and Rebecca spent spent the last years of her life visiting her daughters and son.Richard Trist Jnr.According to a letter I recieved of Sally this is what she said."acording to RTjnr's granddaughter with whom I have been in contact for years we decided to to hire a professional researcher to prove one way or the othere if there had been a divorce. none was found. We came to the conclusion that when the census taker arrive old RTSnr was "feeling Divorced" Thats as good and answer as we'll probably get.[august 5.FTW]
