I am looking for info on the Haggard's of Roane Co., TN.

There was a connection between a Jonathan Haggard and Joel Holt there in 1816. Joel filed to be made administrator of Peter Holt's estate. Peter was Joel's father. Jonathan Haggard sign the bond for Joel.

Another connection that is not so good is with a Samuel Haggard and a Peter Holt. On December 23, 1818, Peter Holt assaulted a Samuel Haggard. The January 1819 Roane Co., TN Grand Jury indicted Peter Holt for assault and battery. Peter Holt was never found according to the court records.

What is the relation between Jonathan and Samuel Haggard? Does anyone know about any other connections with the Holt family? I am trying to determine what the problem may been between Samuel Haggard and Peter Holt. I think this Peter Holt is my 4th Great Grandfather.

Danny:
These two men would have to have been brothers since their father, Samuel Haggard Sr. died in 1811 in Jackson County, Georgia. Jonathan Haggard was my gggg grandfather. I do not have much information on him I know that he was in Jackson County, GA in the early 1800's where he married in Harmony Grove. He made his way to Roane County and was involved with 12 of his siblings in the protest of his father's will. Those records come from Bedford County, TN. I have read that his death was listed in Hardin County.
Perhaps the county lines were changing.
