The Joan Schafer Home Page

My name is Joan Schafer Jachowski, and this page is devoted to the ancestors of my grandparents, Rudolph W. Schafer and Vivian I. Worden, Paul F. Willrett and Ethel M. Talbot. The Schafer and Willrett families came to America in the 1850's from Wurrtemburg, Germany, and settled in the small townships of Zuma, Rock Island Co., IL and South Grove, DeKalb Co., IL. The Worden and Talbot families came to the New World in the early 1600's. The Worden tree begins with immigrant, Peter Worden of Yarmouth, MA, and the Talbots had their start with Jared Talbot of Taunton, MA.
I am fortunate to have information on my MAYFLOWER lineage, as well as my descendancy from Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island, through 3 of his children!

WILLRETT, HELD, SCHICK, TALBOT, KNIGHT, SULLLIVAN, ANGELL, EDDY, PATTEN, COUNTRYMAN, TALCOTT, WIGHTMAN, WESTCOTT, WILLIAMS, SAYLES, OLNEY, WINSOR, FIELD, MOWRY, SMITH (a number of them), SPRAGUE, BACKUS, SPENCER, and many more famous 1600's names!
