I am researching families that were removed from their homes in the North during and after the American Revolution. They were American Patriots. The War of 1812 began a mass movement westward starting with the "Battle of Horseshoe Bend" in Alabama,Then Mississippi Territory. Georgia Patriots and their families took part in the annexation of Florida, many were killed during the Seminole Wars. Refugees from the Tombigbee or the "Battle Of Corn" were mixed families who arrived in Texas before 1809.They were French, Germans, Scots, Irish,Half-Breeds, Freed Blacks all a part of the Native Americans. They fought along with Mexico to keep from being annexed by the United States President Andrew Jackson . They fought to keep the Constitution of 1824 between Texas and Mexico. They fought against President Andrew Jackson Indian Removal act of 1830.
