Notes for John H. Allgood: I believe I have found John in the 1860 Wilkes county, Georgia census in the household of G. M. Maxwell (27). It has been speculated upon that John may be a cousin to the Royals.
I have also found a John Allgood approximately the right age in Mecklenburg county, VA in 1860 (28).
