Had ship brokerage and commission mechant business. Stated that he and wife - Henriette Pequinot had four children. This is confusing. Also death date for Jonathan is quite late, considering family history.

To authorize John Bellow, Elizabeth Bellow, Michael Bellow, Amelia Bellow
and Joseph Bellow, to resume their original name.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That John, Michael,
Elizabeth, Amelia and Joseph Bellow, who, in common with their brothers
Enrique and Fernando, claim their family name to be Hamel, be and are hereby
authorized to resume the said name, and that henceforth they shall be known
under the names of John Bellow Hamel, Enrique Hamel, Fernando Hamel, Michael
Bellow Hamel, Joseph Bellow Hamel, Amelia Bellow Hamel and Elizabeth Bellow
Hamel, the latter being the lawful wife of John Curry.
