James Bell (son of Robert Bell and Agnes Fleming) was born 1750 in Belfast, Antrim, Ireland, and died December 05, 1836 in Rosslyn, Allegany County, PA. He married Mary Newkirk in Chartiers Creek, PA.

I can follow the
Bell line from Robert Bell to James, Sr. to James Bell who died Oct 27, 1847
(age 60). He was married to Elizabeth Fairley who died Nov 10, 1843 (age
52). They had a daughter Adeline. I don't know if
there were other children. James Bell Sr. was an original settler of the
Pittsburgh, PA area and is buried in Chartiers Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.
Eight Bell brothers came to PA. James and John were the only two that
stayed. The others were Samuel, Robert, Charles, David, Joseph and William.
They moved to Harrod's creek, Ky and Harrison county, Ind.

1770, in the fall, George Washington, James Bell, Col. Crawford, and Dr. James Craih set out of Fort Pitt down the Ohio to the Great Kanawha river to survey land for the French and Indian War veterens.
