Researching the MARQUIS / MARQUESS family and all collateral lines. The MARQUIS family first appears in the USA around 1700. The family migrated from PA to MD and VA before moving into western PA, Ohio and IN. Collateral lines include;COLVILLE, VANCE, HOUGE, COTTEN, BARNETT, HARRIS, TYLEE, MOREHEAD, SPEAKMAN, TOUCHSTONE. I am researching the following southern lines; WILKINS, ASHLEY, BOWEN, ROACH, FAGAN, BROWN, BRAFFY, STALEY, SIMMONS, GEHRET, HOFFMANN and many others.

In addition to the MARQUIS family, I am researching the German and Irish families that migrated from Maryland to Louisiana during the 1700's. These families include; MALBROUGH (Manhofer, Marcoff), ORY (Ourey, Ourie, Horry), RODDY (Rhodey, Roddi), CLARK, ENGLEHARDT, THOMAS, ADAMS, KLEINPETER (Petitpierre), SHARP, and many others. Other Louisiana lines are; LAMOUREAUX, SCHULTE, JAHN, DUHON, MONTE, BOURGEOIS, BOURG, DAROIS, HYMEL, FINK, and many others.
