*** I have no idea about Col. O'Neil There is no one of that name listed here. The park rangers had no idea, nor had they ever seen such an entry.

Exchange of prisoners was limited at best and formally stopped by Gen. Grant in 1864. Most deaths occuring at Andersonville were due to scurvy or dysentery.

In one census I too saw it as Hutson but as he was near his brothers, I
was sure it was him. Did he stay there beyond 1850 or did he go to TN
also?? Hutson's brother David is my line and he and his children went to
TN. I think David came back to Va right before he died. The Lawsons in Lee
county were living near Gate City. They lived between Gate City and
