Welcome to our Family Tree Homepage. We grew up in southwest Texas but our ancestors came from Europe. Mainly Czechoslovkia and Germany with a few from Poland. My family surnames include: Prazak, Vacek, Gallia, Hobizal, Uhyrek and Polacky. My first husbands family surnames include: Jedlicka, Novak,Luchak,and Viktorin. My present husband's family surnames include:Chovanetz, Sciba, Rother and Bittner. They all orginally settled in the Texas regions of Frydek, Wallis, East Bernard, Hallettsville, and surrounding towns during the middle to late 1800's. Almost all were farmers who chose this area because of the rich black gumbo soil or hillly wooded areas depending on where they immigrated from. Later during the 1900's some families from the Wallis area moved to California and Oregon. At this time I am concentrating on the Rother-Bittner line for my husbands lineage. I have completed as much of the John Gallia-Anna Hobizal family line as I could complete; also the John Uhyrek-Theresa Polocky family line. The reason for working on these two family archives at one time was because there were several marriages between brothers and sisters in these two families. I am having difficulty in tracing all of them back to the home countries in Europe. I cannot find the names of any of their parents. When I complete the data for the family here in the states I will then dig through the distant archives. Any information or help will be appreciated. |
