Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Hawkins was born June 08, 1810 in Virginia, and died December 13, 1898 in Peters Colony, Denton Co., Texas. She married (1) William Sevedge. She married (2) Daniel Bradley Sr. on Bef. 1823 in Lawrence Co., Alabama.
Notes for Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Hawkins: Notes and dates indicate that Grandmother Bradley Sevedge must have had two husbands named Bradley since it is known by tombstone inscriptions that some of the siblings are half brother/sisteer related. Grandmother must have married a third time to a man named Sevedge, probably in Arkansas. It has been written that as a widow with several children, she was pennyless and that she and Margaret, Abraham Stover's second wife, lived with other Stover families as "help" before Margaret's sister, Mary Ann died. It is recorded in the Denton County Census of 1860 that she was living with Abraham and his second wife Margaret. She was living with Margaret in 1898 when she died. Some records show that she was born in Tennessee. The Bradley and the Stover Families were always close to each other in Alabama, Arkansas and Texas. She was also known as Betsie Sevedge.
Recent research indicates her maiden name may have been FOUNTAIN. The only child born to Abraham and Mary Ann was named Elisha Fountain which offers some degree of proof.
