Sarah's mother was named Mary. Mary Antrim later married William Matthews and so he became Sarah's stepfather. William and Mary Matthews had about 5 children. The only son was named William Matthews, Jr. This William Jr. wrote of his trips into NC, PA and "over the mountains". He visited a Richard Ankrom who was not a Quaker. William said his parents were not Quakers when they married but soon became Quakers and the girls all married Quakers and were active in the church. William Jr. visited Thomas and Sarah Beales when he went to Guilford Co. NC.
William Matthews Sr.'s will left a horse to his "daughter-in-law Sarah Ankrom. They had lived in Stafford Co.VA but he may have moved to Prince George or Carroll Co. where he died.
