William D. 'Bill' Adkins Feb. 2, 1919 - March 27, 2007
SILVER LAKE - William D. "Bill" Adkins, 88, died at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday in Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
He was born in Indianapolis to Lee and Adah (Lazzell) Adkins Bickers. He married Ellen C. Cagle in Indianapolis on Feb. 18, 1949. He retired from Active Products in Marion and worked the past ten years at Wabash True Value. Bill was a lifetime member of the American Metal Society and was a furniture craftsman at Twin Lakes Antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen C. Adkins, Silver Lake; daughter, Julie Harrigan, Cape Coral, Fla.; four sons, Jerry Adkins and Ronald (Judy) Adkins, both of Indianapolis, Tim (Patty) Adkins, Silver Lake and Steven Adkins; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his dog, Chico.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister.
Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Rd., Roann, with Pastor Matt Keller officiating.
Visitation is from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
