It is possible he was the captain of the Truelove. He arrived in America in the 1st quarter of the 1600's. It is the family story that he was connected with the military somehow and decided to stay in America. It appears that he was married twice; once in the UK and once in the United States. Nothing is known about the first wife other than her name was Mary Tibbals. The second marriage to Sarah resulted in 3 sons and 2 daughters, all born in Milford, Conn.
