My parents were William S. Jenkins and Annetta Prenzler.My grandparents were Edgar Jenkins and Delia Clark, and Jurgen (Henry) Prenzler and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Lindloff. Edgar Jenkins came from Llansoy, Wales, Monmouthshire Co.The Clarks came from Randolph County, West Virginia to Missouri,in the middle 1800's.Edgar and Delia were married in Randolph Co, Missouri. Edgar's parents were Edward and Anna (Hunt) Jenkins. Delia's parents were Valentine Southall Clark and Catherine Westfall. Henry and Minnie came from Germany. They were married in Wriedel, Germany, shortly before coming to America. Theysettled first in Franklin County, Iowa, and later in Swisher County in Texas. They came to the US on Nov.30, 1892 on the ship, Westernland. My wife's (Ruth) parents were Andrew Gantenbein and Grace Meyers. Her grandparents were John Gantenbein and Ursula Haas; and George Meyers and Jessie E. Beckner. John Gantenbein came from Grabs, Switzerland, Dec. 2, 1876, and settled in the Dubuque,Iowa area.John's father, Mathias Gantenbein died in Grabs in 1866. All of the children, and their mother, Katharina, came to this country within 10 years of his death. Ursula Haas was born in Jenaz, Switzerland to Andreas Haas and Barbara Joos.They arrived in New York on May 7, 1866, on the ship, Borussia. George Meyers was born in Dubuque County, Iowa, to William Meyers and Martha Hinde.Martha came with her parents, William and Jane Hinde from England in 1855.William came to this country with his parents, Michael and Konstantia Maier from Aichen, Baden, Germany, sometime around 1855. Jessie Beckner was born March 11, 1879, in Greeley, Iowa to John Andrew Beckner and Ellen Alice Watenpaugh.
